ABOUT MICHAEL CAVAZOS

A professional photographer, Michael Cavazos has been photographing across East Texas since 2004. He enjoys helping people and businesses document life beautifully.

A Kilgore, Texas native, Michael graduated from Kilgore High School and studied photography at Kilgore College under O. Rufus Lovett. He later attended Stephen F. Austin State University. Michael worked for two decades at the Longview News-Journal where he enjoyed photographing people, events, businesses, and the scenery across the Pine Curtain. Over the years, he received numerous awards and accolades, including being named Star Photojournalist of the Year in the State of Texas at the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors Awards in 2014. In addition to East Texas publications, his work has appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, Dallas Morning News, Houston Chronicle, Texas Monthly, and the Texas Tribune.

Now, at his professional photography business, Michael Cavazos Photography, he looks forward to creating lasting images with his unique skills. A professionally trained photographer, Michael enjoys documenting events and capturing people. In addition to event photography and portraiture, he also specializes in commercial photography, professional images, architectural photos, weddings, and more. He also enjoys working with small businesses and nonprofits. In addition to traditional camera photography, Michael also works with drones to capture aerial images.

Outside of photography, Michael enjoys running, cycling, traveling, homebrewing, and playing video games. He and his wife, Christina, reside in Longview with their three dogs and two cats.
